Background Of Feni Sadar Upazila

There is a rich history of Feni Sadar upazila. It is believed that before 1000 to 1400 AD, the human settlement developed in this area first. In the ancient times, this region was included in the Samatata kingdom. In 1876 the then British government established the Feni subdivision for administrative convenience. Feni Sadar Upazila was an affiliate of the Feni sub-division and the Feni subdivision was earlier included in Noakhali district. In 1972 Feni municipal meeting was established in this upazila. Later, Feni district was established in 1984. Two / three types of history of Feni district / upazila are available.
